Depending on where you are from, your age and what your mom called it, the terms duvet and comforter may be interchangeable. At Pacific Coast® Luxury Bedding you will find luxurious down comforters and high thread count duvets to put them in.
Is it a down duvet or a comforter?
A duvet is a decorative cover, usually with a button, snap, tie or zipper closure. These are made to protect your comforter while also being decorative to match the style of your bedroom.
A down duvet is a comforter, similar to a blanket or quilt, but is filled with an insulating material such as cotton, wool, silk, polyester or down. Pacific Coast® Luxury Bedding only offers comforters with the smoothest cotton coverings, high fill power down and quality stitching to last and last.
Do I need a duvet or a protector for my comforter?
Some people prefer to have their comforter on their bed without a duvet or comforter protector. While the comforter itself is washable, we do not recommend this, as it will last longer if covered to protect from stains.
We know accidents are unavoidable. Coffee spills in bed while taking your time on a weekend morning, a new puppy in the house getting overexcited to see you in the morning, your young child or grandchild snuggling on your bed with you. Accidents will happen, and the more protection you have for your investment, the longer your comforter will remain as perfect as the day you bought it.
Pacific Coast® Luxury Bedding also offers comforter protectors, which are neither a duvet nor a comforter. This is a plain white cotton cover that zips over your comforter for that extra layer of protection. Some people who want that extra protection, will place this cover on their comforter and then the duvet over the top of the protector.
Whether you are looking for a high thread count luxury duvet for your new comforter, a different color duvet to change up the look of your bedroom or a protector to give you that bit of extra protection from life’s little accidents, you will find it at Pacific Coast® Luxury Bedding.
